Conversión de unidades

Transformar una medida a otra equivalente en la que han cambiado las unidades que acompañan a la cantidad numérica que se expresa en la medida. Un método para realizar este proceso es con el uso de los factores de conversión. Con este método basta multiplicar la medida que conocemos por una fracción (factor de conversión) y el resultado es otra medida equivalente en la que han cambiado las unidades. Cuando el cambio de unidades implica la transformación de varias unidades se pueden utilizar varios factores de conversión uno tras otro, de forma que el resultado final será la medida equivalente en las unidades que buscamos. Factores de conversión

En factor de conversión es una fracción en la que el numerador y el denominador son medidas iguales expresadas en unidades distintas, de tal manera, que esta fracción vale la unidad. Método efectivo para cambio de unidades y resolución de ejercicios sencillos dejando de utilizar la regla de tres. Ejemplo 1: Pasar 15 pulgadas a centímetros (factor de conversión: 1 pulgada = 2,54 cm) :15 pulgadas × (2,54 cm / 1 pulgada) = 15 × 2,54 cm = 38,1 cm. Ejemplo 2: Pasar 25 metros por segundo a kilómetros por hora (factores de conversión: 1 kilómetro = 1000 metros, 1 hora = 3600 segundos) :25 m/s × (1 km / 1000 m) × (3600 s / 1 h) = 90 km/h. Ejemplo 3: Obtener la masa de 10 litros de mercurio (densidad del mercurio: 13,6 kilogramos por decímetro cúbico) :Nótese que un litro es lo mismo que un decímetro cúbico. :10 litros de mercurio × (1 decímetro cúbico de mercurio / 1 litro de mercurio) × (13,6 kilogramos / 1 decímetro cúbico de mercurio) = 136 kg. En cada una de las fracciones entre paréntesis se ha empleado la misma medida en unidades distintas de forma que al final sólo quedaba la unidad que se pedía.

Geersdijk

Geersdijk is een dorp in de Nederlandse gemeente Noord-Beveland. Het inwonertal bedraagt circa 300 (1 januari 2003). De naam stamt van de voornaam Geerlof. Geersdijk was al in 1216 een zelfstandige parochie. Op 5 november 1530 werd heel Noord-Beveland overstroomd, en in 1532 gebeurde dat nogmaals. Alle dorpen, waaronder Geersdijk, verdwenen in de golven. Met het opnieuw inpolderen van Noord-Beveland werd in 1598 begonnen. In 1668 werd in de buurt van het oude Geersdijk het huidige Geersdijk opgebouwd, volgens een grondplan met haaks lopende kavels In 1808 werd iets ten zuiden van Geersdijk een haventje aangelegd. Dit werd gebruikt voor het verschepen van landbouwproducten, en voor een veerdienst op Zuid-Beveland. Rond 1850 werd de veerdienst opgeheven. Het haventje is tegenwoordig in gebruik als vluchthaven.
